Hon. Schuyler H. Richardson
Dick Richardson was appointed to the District Court of Madison County in September, 2006. He is a Huntsville native, having received a B.A. degree from Davidson College in 1974 and a J.D. degree from the University of Alabama in 1977. He was a Law Clerk to Judge J. Foy Guin, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, from 1977 to 1978. He returned to Huntsville, where he practiced law for over 28 years. He served as court-appointed mediator for the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit of Alabama and was appointed Special Circuit Judge for the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit by the Alabama Supreme Court in 1999. He worked with the Madison County United Way as Fundraiser and Professional Division chairman; with the Huntsville Hospital Foundation as a fundraiser; on the board of directors of Hospice of Huntsville; on the Hospice Family Care board of directors and as its founding board president; with the Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Foundation board of directors; and on the Valley Foundation of the UAB School of Medicine board of directors from 2004 to the present.
